What were you doing at 16 years old? Andrew Angelotti built his first electric pickup truck.
It was a 1988 Mazda. It cost him $6,000 to convert. His power comes from 20 flooded lead acid batteries and a 60 hp 9 inch electric motor. The truck gets up to 50 by miles per hour and can go 40 miles per charge.
With one vehicle under his belt, he's owned to the next project. It'll be a 1992 Toyota Tercel. He's hoping to use a larger motor so we can get up to 80 mph.
If a 16-year-old can do it, what's stopping the major manufacturers?
